Abu Dhabi, the first quarter record for tourism

Tourist arrivals in Abu Dhabi in his 152 hotels have recorded its best first quarter ever in terms of number of guests, nights spent and profits. The data just released by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority show about 834 771 visitors in the first three months of the year , a 32% compared to the same period of 2013.
The nights spent in the Emirate totaled 2.6 million , an increase of 22% compared to Q1 of 2013 and with an employment level of 79% (+8% on 2013) . Profits grew by 11 % to 1.5 billion dirhams (just over € 294 million ) with the food & beverage sector in the Lead with a growth of 11 % to 595 million dirhams ( 116 million euro ) .
” These data are very encouraging considering that the portfolio of hotels Emirate is constantly evolving , with a growth of 10% in the last year in the availability of the rooms ,” said Jasem Al Darmaki , deputy director general , TCA Abu Dhabi.
“Our primary focus is to promote the Emirate and its vast tourism portfolio with the objective of increasing the average length of stays , which now stands at just over 3 nights and emphasizing products to both the consumer and to the trade and focusing a lot on the value-for -money that is the destination , “concluded Al Darmaki .
